About me
I work from my home studio in Saffron Walden, Essex – where I’ve loved living for 10 years.
As well as creating art works for specific environments, I’ve enjoyed creative collaborations on a variety of fashion, jewellery and film projects. The beauty of throwing myself into unusual projects has been meeting such talented designers and creatives in other fields. The stimulus of meeting a brief with a visual end is the common thread in these collaborations and has certainly inspired specific themes in my artwork.
Like lots of parents, a portfolio career has been a fantastic route for me while supporting my growing family, it has allowed me the flexibility to create work as an artist and find plenty of inspiration, which is vital to producing my fresh work. My other roles include jewellery design, event producing and PR.
In 2022 I joined Curwen Print Study Centre in Thurlow as a member and have revived my passion for printmaking. The collective knowledge and support there is incredible. I like to mix printmaking techniques like embossing, lino printing and mono printing (the latter I do at home on large glass panels). I create small variable editions and like to recycle materials from my kitchen like salmon foil cards and Tetra Paks to create intaglio prints.
This year I created several sculpture assemblages in bell jars which embrace my love of a twisted fairy tale and I will, most definitely, be making more of these. Some are currently for sale in the magical The Smithy in Saffron Walden.
